Share information without creating an inner circle

Access to context affects who can contribute effectively.

Make decisions findable

When a decision is made in an informal conversation, record the outcome where the relevant team can find it. Include the reason, the owner and the next action. People working remotely, part time or in another time zone should not need access to a private social circle to learn what changed. Share information according to role and legitimate need.

Create more than one route to contribute

A fast meeting does not capture every useful perspective. Provide an agenda, allow written input and make the final decision visible. Explain how a concern can be raised after the meeting. This does not require every decision to become a vote; it requires a clear process so contributions are considered and responsibilities are understood.

A short working checklist

  • Record decisions and their owners.
  • Offer written as well as spoken input.
  • Share relevant context through maintained channels.
